About

Welcome to my scuba diving blog.

I fell in love with scuba diving in 1999 during a snorkeling trip to Molokini crater in Maui. I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life. The fish. The colors. The sense of Zen like isolation yet at the same time feeling a part of everything in nature.

And while I marveled at the experience, I looked sixty feet below me and saw a group of scuba divers. Surely if I was having this much fun snorkeling they were enjoying the experience at a completely different level. I knew at that moment that I had to try it. As soon as I returned home to Los Angeles I called my buddy and told him we were getting certified and going back to Maui for the millennium celebrations and to dive Molokini crater.

We got certified. We went to Maui. We dove Molokini. And I’ve been scuba diving ever since.

Scuba diving has lead to me parts of the globe I would likely never been to before. Along the way, I became an Advanced Diver, a Rescue Diver, a Dive Master, an Instructor, a Master Scuba Diving Trainer, and even authored a PADI approved specialty course on sea lion awareness. So to say that I’ve fallen in love with scuba diving would be a serious understatement.

Though my 9 – 5 career no longer affords me the time it takes to offer quality scuba instruction, I still enjoy sharing my passion for the sport with others via this weblog. In a way, my decision to pursue instructor credentials and to offer this weblog are both my way of giving back. They’re a way of saying thanks to the dive masters, instructors, and especially the Molokini divers who introduced me to something that has impacted my life so positively.

I hope you enjoy.
